WRIT Media Group Inc. (OTC: WRIT) is pleased to announce the release of the Dune II NFT project on the Sologenic Dex, through its Amiga Games brand. Amiga Games licenses classic pre-Windows computer game libraries and adapts and republishes the most popular titles for smartphones, modern game consoles, PCs, tablets, NFTs, and other television streaming devices. Among the many titles under license is Dune: The Battle for Arrakis (Dune II) which received the Amiga User International’s Game of the Month award when it was reviewed in September 1993.
Dune II is widely regarded as the archetypical real-time strategy (RTS) video game, establishing the format and laying the foundation for future games like Age of Empires, Command & Conquer, Warcraft, and many others. CU Amiga magazine rated the game highly with 85%, praising the smooth gameplay and controls.
This project is a limited NFT release using elements from the game Dune II: The Battle for Arrakis which introduced the world to gameplay weapons like the Ornithipter, All-Purpose Carryall, Heavy Attack Quad and so many more. These exciting NFTS will ultimately allow the holder to earn native reward tokens from in-app purchases and gameplay. As more people download and play this game the NFT holder will have greater and greater opportunities for rewards and discounts on purchases of digital merchandise NFTs and upgrades. The NFT holders will have access to early releases and discounts on purchases. A portion of all NFTs sold will be used to continue the development of the Amiga Games titles for Web3, smartphones, modern game consoles, PCs, and tablets.
Company CEO Eric Mitchell said This is an exciting time for the company as we see both the decentralized finance (DeFi) and gaming finance (GameFi) markets heating up again. These NFTs are just the first step of a strategy for WRIT to get deeper into the GameFi markets. We felt it was prudent to prioritize the Dune II title among all our licensed titles, due in part to the recent box office success of the Dune II film.
